General Motors Corp. (GM) will recall 240,000 Saturn L-Series cars and 95,000 Buick Rendezvous sport utility vehicles for separate problems, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (search) said on Monday.

NHTSA said GM would fix a faulty ignition control computer that could eventually trigger a fire on Saturn L-Series (search) cars, model years 2000 through 2003.

On the Rendezvous, GM will reinforce the support around the rear liftgate latch to keep the latch from failing in a crash. That recall covers model years 2002 and 2003.

Other recalls announced by the agency Monday include:

-- Mazda Motor Corp. (search) will recall 64,000 Mazda6, Miata and MPV models built in model years 2001 through 2003 to fix a fog lamp socket that could come loose and set a bumper on fire.

-- Mazda also issued a separate recall for 45,600 Mazda6 sedans, which went into production last year, to fix an indicator in the brake fluid reservoir.

-- Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (search) will recall 60,000 Infiniti G35 coupes and sedans sold as 2003 models to fix a brake lamp switch that can fail, causing the brake lights to stay off when the brakes are used.
