Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld (search) says the United States will "soon" release photographs of the bodies of Saddam Hussein's sons Uday (search) and Qusay (search) to prove they are dead.

One official tells FOX News that based on the photos at the Pentagon of Saddam's sons, while the bodies are battle-damaged, they are "clearly identifiable."

Some skeptical Iraqis have called on U.S. authorities to prove that Uday and Qusay were killed in the shootout with American forces. U.S. officials had debated whether to release the photos, likely to be gruesome because of the way Saddam's sons were killed.

Should the photos be released? You decide!

Saddam's sons' snapshots: Proof positive or negative reaction?

A sample of your responses:

Why are they taking so long to show the proof of the death of Saddam's sons to the Iraqi people? They should have done it immediately after they confirmed the identities. It may not be pleasant but it is necessary.

Yes, they should be shown. The people of Iraq are people that don't believe what people tell them and rightfully so. They believed in what their leader was telling them and were slaughtered if they didn't believe.

I suggest to you that there will still be a significant number in the Arab world who will refuse to believe that Uday and Qusay are dead. They will believe that American computer technology has created the pictures to make people believe they are dead.

There is no clear-cut answer to your question of should we or should we not see the photos of the two sons. You will have those who will question the authentic nature of the photos and who will say that we are being brutal in this expression of proof. Personally, show the photos. Saddam seemed to have no problem butchering and exhibiting the deaths of hundreds of innocents.

There will always be those naysayers who wouldn't believe it if they were standing over the bodies.  I think the "best" way to prove to the Iraqi people would be to have two copies of the pictures, one with the bodies cleaned up and one when they aren't. Then let the people decide which picture they want to look at. As for the naysayers...forget about 'em.

The Iraqi people won't believe Saddam and his kids are dead until they're hanging in the public square. They've had so many decades of this monster that nothing less will do.

It is good to show their pictures.

Turn the bodies over to the Iraqi people.

I think they will never believe anything we have to say 100 percent because they have been taught just the opposite. It will take the fact that "Big daddy" is still out there and could come back to haunt them somehow, so I think it will still be a negative response. Until all three can be brought in front of the Iraqis, I don't think they will ever feel the freedom our men and women have fought and died for.
