Analyze That, The Hot Chick and Comedian in the DVD and video glare of The Foxlight

Put Robert De Niro in the loony bin and have him sing the score from West Side Story and you can't lose, right? Toss in Billy Crystal with sushi and it's all boffo, isn't it? Well, rent this movie out on DVD and video this week and, as the title suggests, 'Analyze That.' The completely bankrupt sequel to the original proves that De Niro is not the 'King of Comedy' after all -- even though his biggest moneymakers have been things like Meet The Parents. This time? No mob hit.

Next, Rob Schneider is still making movies. And he actually told The Foxlight this is his best movie ever. It's the age-old gender bender concept and this time it's called The Hot Chick. It wasn't so hot at the theater and I'm thinking it's getting even more tepid by now.

Finally, how about a real comedian? One that stands in front of audiences and tries to make them laugh in dingy little basements with only a microphone and two drink minimum to help them? That's the concept of Comedian, the Jerry Seinfeld documentary that levels the comedy playing field.

The former sitcom star is just like the rest of the guys up there on the stage -- except for the Porsches and the Central Park duplex. The results are actually fascinating and certainly better suited to the small screen where frankly I thought it belonged in the first place.
