Topics and Guests for April 30

Tonight... Get on On the Record with Greta!

Let the rebuilding begin... President Bush will officially declare the end of the combat phase of the war to liberate Iraq and declare that the rebuilding phase has begun.

Earlier today, White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said the president will make the announcement aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, tomorrow evening at 9 p.m. ET (watch the speech LIVE on FOX News Channel!).  President Bush plans to spend Thursday night aboard the Lincoln as the ship returns from operations in Iraq.

Fleischer said that General Tommy Franks, the top commander in Iraq, informed the president that it is safe to say that "major combat operations have ended."

"Yesterday the president spoke with General Franks," Fleischer said. "General Franks told the president that major combat operations have ended and that the next phase has begun, which is the reconstruction of Iraq."

How will the rebuilding phase in Iraq unfold? What else must be done in the Middle East as part of the rebuilding process? Former U.S Secretary of State Henry Kissinger goes on the record.

Plus, how will President Bush carry out his vision of a post-war Iraq as he looks forward to 2004? We'll ask former Presidential Adviser David Gergen.

Also, tonight there are new reports Scott Peterson's former girlfriend, Amber Frey, played a pivotal role behind the scenes to help Modesto cops build a case against her former lover. We'll talk with Henry Lee, a reporter from the San Francisco Chronicle and Criminal Defense Attorney Bernie Grimm and former Washington, D.C. Homicide Detective Ted Williams and Ted Rowlands who is a reporter for KTVU-TV.

Finally, remember that hero we told you about last night? -- The man who was arrested after he saved four kids from a burning building on Sunday. Well, tonight, Kris Leja is free on a $3,000 bond, but that hasn't silenced those outraged at the arrest. Joining us now from Abilene, Texas, Leja's lawyer Sam Moore and the district attorney for Taylor County, James Eidson.

Don't miss On the Record with Greta Van Susteren LIVE at 10 p.m. ET!
