Hi, I'm Bill O'Reilly.  Thank you for watching us tonight.

Oh, Canada, why are you doing this to us?  That's the subject of this evening's Talking Points Memo.

In April, 60 Minutes did a very fine report on the chaotic immigration policy in Canada.  Bullet points, 15 of the 19 9/11 killers came to the U.S. from Canada.  Since 9/11, Canada has granted 26,000 foreigners asylum, nearly half of them did not produce any identification.  And 4,000 of those refugees came from high-risk countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The fact is that Canada will let almost anyone in, and then provide them extensive welfare benefits.

Now, you may remember the story of Ahmed Rassam (ph), who came down from Vancouver and was captured with explosives in Washington State.  He confessed to trying to blow up the tower at the Los Angeles Airport.

Now, with all this data, question is, why is Washington so silent about Canada's dangerous immigration policy?  We asked the White House for a statement, and here it is.  "It is not up to the United States to dictate what Canada's immigration law should be.  They are a sovereign nation, and we wouldn't want them to dictate to us.  We talked to the Canadian government on steps to take in this regard."

Well, it's clear to me that Washington is waffling about a dire security situation north of the border.  They're playing it the same way the played it with Mexico, see no evil, heads in the sand.

"Talking Points" believes it is time for Americans to wake up those in charge of protecting us.  Call or e-mail your congressman and senators, let them know that this Canada situation is insane, because it is.

Only if we the people put pressure on our elected officials will anything get done.  I mean, this is nuts.

Any terrorist in the world has a great shot of walking into Canada and then segueing down here.  This stupid stuff has got to stop.  The Justice Department is running around fingerprinting Middle Eastern people holding visas.  Fine, great, do it.  But that's just a trifle.

The real danger lies at our borders, and our leaders refuse to deal with it.  What a disgrace!

Canada and Mexico must cooperate with the United States.  They must stop their destructive immigration policies and help us protect ourselves.  If these countries don't cooperate, then Americans have to seize the day.  Simply don't go there.  Do not spend any money in Canada or Mexico.  If all Americans would do that, Mexico and Canada would change their attitudes damn fast.  If our politicians won't protect the United States, we have to protect ourselves.

Canada is on notice.  Change your immigration policy, or see you much later.

And that's the memo.

The Most Ridiculous Item of the Day

Time for "The Most Ridiculous Item of the Day."

In a stunning development, The Factor has been nominated by the Television Critics Association of America for best news and information program of the year.

I am nearly speechless, but not quite, as many in the establishment media can't stand us.  Also nominated in that category is 60 Minutes, Nightline, Frontline, and American Masters on PBS.  So is there any doubt who will win?  If Koppel wins, I may have to mess up his hair.  That of course, would be ridiculous.  We appreciate the critics nominating us.
