D'Andre Wright scored 14 points off the bench, Rashad Smith and James Woodard added 12 apiece, and Tulsa broke open the game after halftime en route to a 63-51 victory over San Diego on Friday night.

Wright, a freshman, was 5 of 10 from the floor and added 11 rebounds for the Golden Hurricane (3-0), who led just 25-24 after a Zeldric King 3-pointer just before halftime. Tulsa then steadily increased the margin after the break, leading by as many as 13 in the second half.

The Golden Hurricane outrebounded San Diego 39-26, helping them overcome 21 turnovers.

Johnny Dee scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and Christopher Anderson added 11 points and a career-high seven steals for the Toreros (2-2). Dee was 7 of 15 from the floor.

The game, part of the NUCDF Basketball Challenge, was the first-ever meeting between the schools.
