Veteran forward DeLisha Milton-Jones made her New York Liberty debut against the Washington Mystics on Friday night.
The 6-foot 1 forward was claimed by the Liberty on Sunday, two days after she was waived by San Antonio. Milton-Jones averaged 9.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 15 games with the Silver Stars, down from her career numbers of 11.2 points and 5.5 boards.
After spending the bulk of the previous 14 seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks, Milton-Jones signed with the Silver Stars in the offseason and the team struggled while playing without injured stars Becky Hammon and Sophia Young.
Milton-Jones also hadn't played since suffering a bone bruise in San Antonio's loss against Minnesota on July 19, but didn't have any lingering injury concerns.
The Liberty (10-13) began the night one-half game behind Washington (11-13) for the fourth and final playoff position in the Eastern Conference.
