Rams sign offensive tackle Max Starks, cut by Chargers, to add depth on line

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

The St. Louis Rams have signed offensive tackle Max Starks, who was cut by San Diego after the preseason.

Tackle Rodger Saffold has a left knee injury that could sideline him for several weeks. He did not practice this week and was ruled out Friday for Sunday's game at Dallas.

The Chargers signed Starks to a free agent deal in the offseason and released him after he surrendered three sacks in a preseason game.

The Rams released cornerback Quinton Pointer to make room for Starks.
