Raiders trade up to take QB Cook in fourth round

CHICAGO (AP) The Oakland Raiders have traded up to take Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook with the second pick of the fourth round of the NFL draft.

The Browns selected Wisconsin linebacker Joe Schobert with the first pick of the day, and then dealt No. 100 to Oakland. The Raiders jumped ahead of Dallas, which might have considered taking Cook as a possible successor to Tony Romo.

The 6-foot-4 Cook passed for 9,194 yards and 71 touchdowns while becoming the winningest quarterback in Michigan State history. But questions about his leadership skills pushed him down the board.

The 6-1 Schobert had 9 1/2 sacks for the Badgers last season.
