Memphis police have found the body of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright in a wooded area, MyFoxMemphis.com reports.
Police have confirmed homicide investigators are on the scene and that Wright was shot at least 12 times.
Memphis police say they are looking into a 911 call from the former player's cell phone the day he went missing, MyFoxMemphis.com reports. The call was a hang-up.
The 34-year-old Wright was last seen July 18 when he was expected to fly out of town. His family filed a missing person report July 22.
His former assistant says police need to investigate Wright's ex-wife Sherra and her friends.
Wright played in the NBA for 13 years for five different teams.
