Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson announced his retirement on Monday, signaling an end to a Hall of Fame career spanning 18 seasons. Seven of those seasons were spent with the Green Bay Packers (2006-2012).

Like many others across the NFL when the news of his retirement broke, the Packers thanked Woodson for his contributions.

Via the Packers' official Twitter account:

Woodson, a former Heisman Trophy-winner, joined the Packers as a 30-year-old cornerback and left as a 36-year-old safety. He made four of his eight Pro Bowl appearances and recorded 38 of his 65 interceptions as a member of the Packers (including a career-high nine picks in 2009). He lost Super Bowl XXXVII with the Raiders, but he won Super Bowl XLV as a member of the Packers.

The Packers just played Woodson's Raiders on Sunday and beat them, 30-20.
