Packers promotional cups land in Vikings country

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) It was a McMixup that wasn't appreciated by fans of the Minnesota Vikings.

Drink cups emblazoned with the logo of the border rival Green Bay Packers were mistakenly shipped to a McDonald's in the Twin Cities suburbs. The restaurant was using them as part of a promotion tied to the Packers' win last week in Detroit with a Hail Mary pass.

Minnesota and Green Bay are fierce rivals in the NFC North and are currently tied for first place with four games left in the regular season.

The Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1NIP3Za ) story about the mistake drew plenty of responses from Vikings fans, some who believe it was no accident and a plot concocted by a Packer backer.
