An Alabama 'Pope' led the sacred ceremony John David Mercer USA TODAY Sports

The sport of college football is a virtual religion in SEC country.

Events of all kinds are scheduled around a specific game on Saturday. In fact, monumental gatherings usually won't be hosted until after the college football season ends.

For two Alabama fans on Saturday, why not combine the two into one incredibly special day?

Prior to the Tennessee-Alabama clash, a wedding ceremony took place outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium in the tailgating area. A (presumed) Alabama fan dressed as the Pope performed the duties as the officiant.

For this newlywed couple, the perfect wedding present would likely be a Crimson Tide victory over the Volunteers.
