Surprise weddings must run in the Rivera’s family.
“Glee” star Naya Rivera’s younger brother and Oakland Raiders tight end Mychal Rivera surprised some friends and family over the weekend by marrying his fiancé Siera just one day after proposing.
“This past Sunday, October 18th, 2015, my best friend and soulmate, Mychal Rivera, made me his fiancé at a beautiful California winery during the breezy autumn sunset with our families holding hands, watching behind wells of happy tears,” Siera Rivera wrote in a post on Instagram. “The morning after the proposal, he & I woke up & decided, ‘Let's get married today!!!’ So, we jumped up & ran to courthouse.”
She went on to say that she “wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“It’s exactly what our life together is like...spontaneous. We lead with our hearts, no matter how unrealistic or unexpected it may seem to others,” Siera wrote.
Naya Rivera, who recently welcomed her first son Josey, surprised fans more than a year ago when she married actor Ryan Dorsey in Mexico.
She has not shared her congratulations to the newlyweds, though she tweeted about being in Oakland over the weekend.
A Twitter account that shares news about the actress also shared some behind-the-scenes photos of Mychal and Siera’s engagement and wedding celebration.
