Hull, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Hull City's injury problems got even worse over the weekend as defender James Chester sustained a dislocated shoulder in his team's 3-0 defeat to West Ham.

Tigers manager Steve Bruce confirmed on Monday that Chester will require surgery to repair the problem, and he didn't give a timetable for the return of the 25-year-old, who has started 16 Premier League games this term.

Chester had to be withdrawn shortly before halftime in Hull's 3-0 defeat on Sunday, while the team was already without six first-team players before the injury to Chester.

In addition to Chester, Bruce's son Alex is also expected to miss a few weeks because of a thigh problem.

Hull is currently 18th in the Premier League table, one point from safety.
