Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - A fan has fallen over a railing in the outfield at Citi Field.

The New York Post reported that the incident took place during batting practice prior to Saturday's Giants-Mets contest.

Further reports revealed the unidentified male fell from the Party Deck section in left field onto the playing surface while trying to grab a ball hit during San Francisco's batting session. He was immobilized on a stretcher, while conscious, and transported for treatment.

The Mets issued a statement shortly before first pitch, stating: "A fan fell from the left field stands and was taken to the hospital."

According to an MLB.com report, witnesses said the fan was trying to get the players' attention when he stumbled over the railing to the warning track below.
