Ducks' Lydman ruled out for Game 4

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Toni Lydman will be unavailable for Monday's Game 4 of the team's Western Conference quarterfinal series against the Red Wings.

Lydman is still suffering from headaches and a sore neck after taking a hard hit from Detroit's Justin Abdelkader in the second period of Saturday's 4-0 Anaheim victory in Game 3.

Abdelkader left his feet to deliver a hit to the head of Lydman and was given a major for charging and a game misconduct. Abdelkader was subsequently issued a two-game suspension as supplementary discipline on Sunday.

Lydman, who had six assists during the regular season, played in the first three contests of this best-of-seven series.

Sheldon Souray, who was a healthy scratch for Game 3, will be in the lineup Monday.
