The Atlanta Braves acquired right-handed pitcher Luis Ayala from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for minor league pitcher Chris Jones.

Ayala was 1-0 with a 9.00 ERA in two relief appearances for Baltimore this season. He appeared in 66 games with the Orioles in 2012, when he posted a 5-5 mark and a 2.64 ERA.

In 497 career games with the Expos/Nationals (2003-08), Mets (2008), Twins (2009), Marlins (2009), Yankees (2011) and Orioles, Ayala is 37-46 with 19 saves and a 3.37 ERA. He has pitched in 50-or-more games in a season six times in his career.

Jones was with the Braves' Double-A Mississippi affiliate in 2012 and 2013. He was obtained by the Braves from the Cleveland Indians in October 2011 in exchange for pitcher Derek Lowe.
