Brady wearing brace on left knee but knew injury was minor soon after being hurt

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

Tom Brady says he was scared for a while after hurting his knee in practice.

But the New England Patriots quarterback found out soon after he was knocked down last Wednesday that he wasn't hurt seriously.

Brady spoke publicly for the first time Monday about his left knee sprain. He was back at practice last Thursday wearing a brace on the knee and played two series in Friday night's 25-21 exhibition win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady says he doesn't like wearing a brace at practice, but team owner Robert Kraft feels strongly that he should wear it. Brady had it on during the game and at practice again Monday.

He says he feels badly that the injury got so much attention because a lot of players deal with injuries.
