Andujar, Nalbandian reach final four in Belgrade

Top-seeded Pablo Andujar and former top-five star David Nalbandian recorded quarterfinal victories Friday at the $485,000 Serbia Open.

The recent Casablanca champion Andujar, of Spain, erased Czech Lukas Rosol 6-4, 6-3, while the fourth-seeded Argentine Nalbandian drilled fellow South American Joao Souza of Brazil 6-3, 6-2 in 72 minutes at Tennis Center Novak.

Andujar's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be France's Benoit Paire, while the former Wimbledon runner-up Nalbandian will take on second-seeded Italian Andreas Seppi, who handled eighth-seeded Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 6-4, 6-3 on Day 5.

The unseeded Paire got bageled in the first set on Friday before charging back to upend third-seeded Finnish veteran Jarkko Nieminen, 0-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Nieminen saw double duty on Friday, as he was forced to complete a rain- suspended match from Thursday, which he did with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Croatian qualifier Antonio Veic.

Belgrade serves as a tune-up for the French Open and will pay its newest champ $88,000.
