It was only a matter of time before Texas lawmakers invited Tony Romo for a photo op and some palm-pressing with the popular former Dallas Cowboys quarterback. Romo was honored on the floor of the Texas State House on Wednesday in Austin with a resolution penned by Rep. Richard Raymond.
Raymond admitted before the ceremony that he is a lifelong Cowboys fan, and judging by his attire Wednesday we dont doubt it.
The 56-year-old lawmaker was decked out in a Romo jersey on Wednesday while another representative donned a Cowboys helmet.
And the resolution itself reads like a fan letter to Romo.
As if that weren'tstrange enough, Romo apparently was asked to sign another lawmakers dress shirt during the commotion.
And the four-time Pro Bowl QB even got to swing the gavel.
Things were much more subdued when he was recognized by the Senate, which opted to do withoutall the Cowboys paraphernalia.
But he did get to bang the gavel in the Senate.
And even the senators couldnt resist getting a selfie with Romo, who apparently has fans on both sides of the aisle.
Romo officially called it quits nearly a month ago, but Wednesday's ceremony is further proof that he's as popular as ever in Texas.
