Good news, race fans. It looks like todays Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway should start on time or close to it, with live coverage beginning at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

Rain has been an issue all weekend at the 0.533-mile Tennessee short track, with qualifying rained out on Friday and the race postponed on Sunday.

Todays forecast is considerably better, however.

As of 8:30 a.m., weather.com forecasts some showers in the morning, ending no later than noon. And from noon until 5 p.m., the chance of rain is only 25 percent.

With the Bristol track situated in the mountains, there could be occasional showers, but NASCAR should be able to get the race in. And even if there is a delay, Bristol has lights, so the race could stretch into the night, if necessary. Hopefully, that wont be an issue.

With qualifying rained out, the field for todays Food City 500 was set per the NASCAR rulebook. That means points leader Kyle Larson will start from the pole in his No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet, flanked by Chase Elliott in the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

So far this season, there have been six different winners in the first seven races of the year, with Team Penskes Brad Keselowski the only two-time winner.
