It appears Chase Elliott and Hendrick Motorsports brought their "A" game to Phoenix Raceway, site of Sunday's Camping World 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race (3 p.m. ET, FOX).

During Friday's lone 85-minute practice round, Elliott turned the fastest speed, lapping the 1-mile Phoenix track at 137.101 miles per hour in his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

Second fast was Kyle Larson, the runner-up in the last two races, who ran 136.472 mph in his Chip Ganassi-owned Chevrolet. Joey Logano was third, followed by Martin Truex Jr. and Ryan Blaney.

Qualifying tonight is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. ET, which is 4:45 p.m. in local Phoenix time, with television coverage on FS1, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Tomorrow there will be two rounds of Monster Energy practice, the first at noon ET, with Happy Hour at 2:30 ET. Both of those sessions will be on FS2.

Kevin Harvick is the favorite this weekend, given that he's won a record eight times here, but he was just 13th in practice.

Brad Keselowski comes into the weekend as the series points leader with 132 points. Behind Keselowski are Kyle Larson (131), Chase Elliott (129), Las Vegas winner Martin Truex Jr. (127) and Joey Logano (119).
