Deborah Antoine new CEO of Women's Sports Foundation

NEW YORK – Deborah Antoine is the new CEO of the Women's Sports Foundation.

The foundation said Monday she will succeed Deborah Slaner Larkin, who leaves Jan. 3.

Antoine served as president and CEO of New York Junior Tennis & Learning, which was co-founded by Arthur Ashe. It's the nation's largest tennis and education program and serves 75,000 children in the five boroughs.

Antoine oversaw the recently completed $26.6 million capital campaign in partnership with the city to build a tennis/education center in the Bronx.

Billie Jean King started the foundation in 1974 and says Antoine is "committed to championing social change through sports." The tennis great adds that Antoine's expertise in fundraising and planning make her a good fit.
