Don't look now, but defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kyle Busch appears to have found his mojo exactly when he needed it most.

Busch, driver of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, qualified and practiced just 19th for the Can-Am 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday, two disappointing results for sure.

But during Saturday afternoon's final Happy Hour Sprint Cup practice, Busch jumped to No. 1 on the speed charts in the opening minutes, running a lap of 136.358 miles per hour.

Behind Busch, Team Penske saw Brad Keselowski clock in third ahead of teammate Joey Logano, followed by the Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of pole-sitter Alex Bowman and then Austin Dillon in a Richard Childress Racing Cheevy. .

The Can-Am 500 at PIR will determine which two drivers will join Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson in the championship round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Nov. 20 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
