SUNRISE, Fla. -- Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have signed forward Denis Malgin to a three-year, entry-level contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 19-year old Malgin recorded 17 points (5-12-17) in 38 games during the 2015-16 season with ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League A and recorded one assist in three playoff games. Malgin won the Swiss Cup with ZSC Lions and recorded two points (1-1-2) in five games of the tournament. He also played in seven games this season with GC Küsnacht Lions of the Swiss National League B and recorded five points (2-3-5).

The 5-foot-9, 177-pound native of Olten, Switzerland recorded a team-leading nine points (1-8-9) in six games at the 2016 World Junior Championship for Team Switzerland. Malgin was originally selected by Florida in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
