Former Green Bay Packers receiver Greg Jennings announced on Monday that he will retire after 10 seasons in the NFL.
"I've got some news to share with you guys," Jennings said in a three-minute clip posted on YouTube. "Football is over."
Jennings announced the decision via his family's video blog, "Jennings Journey," addressing the camera directly and explaining his decision to hang it up.
"I'm excited to be done," he said. "The past 20 years of my life has been football, but today that all changes, and this smile is not going to be removed, it's going to be enhanced."
The decorated wide receiver spent seven seasons in Green Bay after being selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Jennings won a Super Bowl with the Packers in 2011, and led the Packers in receiving yards in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Jennings left the Packers in 2013 and spent two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, before finishing his career with the Miami Dolphins.
"I feel as though I would be going back to football, versus moving forward," he said. "I'm done, but I'm just getting started."
