You can file this under a cross-brand promotion that could really take off. Pun intended.
For travelers arriving on trains at the Denver International Airport, they will now be welcomed by the voice of new Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Tim Howard. A mainstay of the U.S. men's national team, Howard joined the Rapids from Everton two weeks ago.
"Welcome to Denver," says Howard in the recorded message. "...I'm now proud to call Colorado home. There's no better combination than soccer and summer in the great Colorado sunshine. Let's go Rapids."

Howard is one of several athletes who have lent their voices to the trains at the airport. A trio of Broncos players -- former cornerback Champ Bailey, former quarterback Peyton Manning and current wide receiver Demaryius Thomas -- also features as voices that greet fliers.
Howard may be known more for his shot-stopping ability than his public speaking, but when the Rapids brought Howard in, they were surely expecting a big marketing boost to the club. The Rapids were already on top of the league before he arrived and it's debatable whether they needed him, but he has arrived as a big marquee player.
Whenever the 37-year-old Howard opts to retire, maybe he could have a future in radio. His stint with the Denver airport could help him land a new career. Pun intended again.
