Danica Patrick wonders if it's 'too hot' for grueling training regimen

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Danica Patrick is known for her demanding physical-fitness routines, whether it be yoga, hiking in the woods with her dogs -- or running a series of 400-meter sprints in 90-degree weather with additional aerobic exercises in between instead of rest.

The latter nearly proved too much for her the other day, and she readily admitted it by posting the following photo of herself on Instagram after a grueling workout in the oppressing heat.

It left fans wondering if she was getting ready for Saturday night's Quaker State 400 Sprint Cup race at Kentucky Speedway, or secretly training for a spot on the U.S. 400-meter relay team at the upcoming Summer Olympics.

Might of been too hot out for 6-400m runs with 2 min work between each and no rest. mom had some painful fun with me.

Patrick then took to her kitchen, where she apparently had a good time -- but suffered another physical setback when she accidentally cut a pinky finger while slicing squash and eggplant.

That led her to note in her post, "Kids, use the hand tool they give you! Not your hand, I took 1/8 off my pinky."

It was a day of kitchen tools! Started with making waffles, then food processed some basil pesto, then the mandolin for slicing squash and eggplant (kids, use the hand tool they give you! Not your hand, I took 1/8 off my pinky), and my new sous vide machine that is going to make the perfect chicken! Oh and I left out my new vacuum food sealer I used to save the waffles. I flippin love that thing. All bought at @williamssonoma..... When I go in they are like "want this?" And I say of course! I did realize today that I don't have a fancy kitchen aid mixer (baking is not my strong suit, yet) . Mom put it on her Christmas list for me!

Ouch! After all this, racing 400 miles at speeds up to 200 miles per hour at Kentucky Speedway should be a real breeze.
