Every Wednesday, FOX Sports North takes a look at which athletes' stock is trending up and whose is trending down.
Who is heating up (a lot of Twins hitters) and who is cooling off (Tyler Duffey has seen better days).
With that in mind, let's "take stock" of the current Minnesota sports scene.
Minnesota Lynx
Let's face it, the Lynx's stock has been high all year. But on Tuesday, Minnesota went to Los Angeles and won the battle of unbeaten teams, topping the Sparks 72-69 on Renee Montgomery's late 3-pointer. The Lynx are now 13-0. Perhaps we need a special category for them each week?
Brian Dozier, Eduardo Escobar, Max Kepler and Kurt Suzuki, Twins players
This quartet had a fantastic week at the plate. Dozier batted .364/.440/.682 with two triples, a homer and seven runs scored. Escobar batted .389 and drove in six runs thanks to his four extra-base hits (a double, triple and two homers), accounting for an .889 slugging percentage. Kepler batted .381/.458/.714, socking four doubles and a homer while scoring seven runs and posting four RBI. Suzuki had a six RBI game against Oakland on Tuesday to finish off a week in which he hit .429 with a .905 slugging percentage, two homers and nine RBI.
Karl-Anthony Towns, Wolves center
That Rookie of the Year trophy just isn't enough for Towns. The former No. 1 overall pick took to Twitter after the Cleveland Cavaliers capped a thrilling Game 7 win over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, talking championships. Multiple championships. "I need that feeling," Towns said. "One ain't good enough for me."
Adrian Peterson, Vikings running back
Peterson's hometown of Palestine, Texas celebrated Adrian Peterson Day for the 10th year on Saturday, honoring the former Palestine High School star with a parade. The three-time NFL rushing champ donated more than $100,000 to the small community near Dallas last month after flash flooding killed six people and destroyed dozens of homes.
Minnesota United FC
While its proposed stadium remains tied up in local politics, the Loons were on the cusp of a fourth-round victory in the U.S. Open Cup last week, a nation-wide tournament that features teams from all levels of U.S. soccer. The Loons -- who play in the second-division NASL -- squared off against one of the team's they'll face in MLS, falling 2-1 to Sporting Kansas City after Diego Rubio's strike from 12 yards out beat goaltender Sammy Ndjock in extra time.
Tyler Duffey, Twins starting pitcher
Duffey made two starts last week and totaled just 7 1/3 innings. He allowed 12 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits, which equates to a 12.27 ERA and .351 opponent batting average. Duffey has allowed five or six runs in six of his last seven starts, and in the other he allowed four. This comes after allowing five earned runs combined in his first four starts of the season.
Robbie Grossman, Twins outfielder
Grossman provided a spark to Minnesota's offense for over 20 games after being recalled from Triple-A, but last week things grounded to a halt as he went just 2 for 19 (.105) with one extra-base hit (a double) and six strikeouts.
