Tsonga pulls out of Queen's Club tournament with injury

Published June 09, 2016

Associated Press

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has pulled out of next week's Wimbledon warmup tournament at Queen's Club because of an adductor injury.

The 12th-ranked Frenchman, who retired from his third-round match against Ernests Gulbis at the French Open, has not recovered in time to play in the grass-court event in London.

Tsonga, who reached the final at Queen's in 2011, is the second big name to pull out. Rafael Nadal withdrew last week because of the wrist injury that forced him out of the French Open.

Queen's opens on Monday with defending champion Andy Murray as the top seed.
