UFC middleweight Michael Bisping will go from the Octagon to the big screen for a new role he's now filming in "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage".

Bisping teased that he landed a movie role recently that would take him to Toronto for the foreseeable future after joining the cast.

Director DJ Caruso welcomed Bisping to the cast with a message via Twitter.

"xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" features an all-star cast which includes Vin Diesel, who returns to the franchise he first launched with the original movie in 2002.

The sequel, which is currently filming in Canada stars Diesel alongside Samuel L. Jackson, actress Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen and Rory McCann.

Bisping has dabbled in acting previously with roles in several films, as well as a part in the Cinemax action series "Strike Back".

While his first priority is always fighting, Bisping has started pursuing more acting roles when he's not preparing for an upcoming bout, and this latest role will be his biggest chance to shine in an action franchise like "xXx".

Prior to Bisping joining the cast, there were also rumors that featherweight champion Conor McGregor would play a part in "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" but he booked his next fight at UFC 200 and has started preparation for his upcoming rematch with Nate Diaz instead.

"xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is expected to land in theaters on January 20, 2017.
