An injury has sidelined Tony Ferguson and forced him out of his main event bout on April 16 against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

With Ferguson no longer on the card, the light heavyweight matchup between Rashad Evans and Glover Teixeira will now become the new five-round main event at FOX UFC Fight Night in Tampa.

UFC officials confirmed the move to FOX Sports on Tuesday.

As of now, there's been no decision made on Nurmagomedov but he will no longer participate in the main event with Ferguson now unavailable for the card.

Ferguson revealed after news of his injury was public that he had fluid and blood in his lungs and was forced off the card.

Evans and Teixeira were already scheduled as the featured co-main event on the card as the two veterans clash in a battle of top-10 light heavyweights.

Now they will move into the main-event slot with a chance to steal the spotlight just one week out from UFC 197, which features the return of former light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

Evans will look to get back on track following a loss to Ryan Bader last October after returning from a knee injury that kept him out of action for nearly two years.

As for Teixeira, he's riding a two-fight win streak including a victory over Jones' opponent at UFC 197, Ovince Saint Preux. The Brazilian has gone 7-2 during his UFC campaign and he'll look to add Evans to his resume when they meet on April 16.

FOX UFC Fight Night also features a matchup between Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson as well as a bout between two of the best women's strawweights in the world when Rose Namajunas takes on Tecia Torres.
