Jason Day was back at work in the Dell Match Play after hurting his back in the opening round.

He took a deep breath with an audible exhale before stepping to the first tee. If the back was bothering him, it didn't show. Day hit driver on the 381-yard opening hole and with the wind at his back, knocked the ball onto the green 12 feet from the hole. He made the eagle putt and was 1 up on Thongchai Jaidee.

Day still hasn't spoken since he walked off Austin Country Club rubbing his back. One option was to concede his match against Thongchai and rest. However, the only way he could have advanced out of his group would have been to win his match Friday and Thongchai to lose.
