MANCHESTER, England – Manchester City says Pep Guardiola will join the club as its manager on a three-year contract starting next season.
Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini, who announced at a news conference on Monday that he would be leaving at the end of the season.
City said in a statement that negotiations with Guardiola "were a re-commencement of discussions that were curtailed in 2012."
Guardiola said in December he would be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season. He previously managed Barcelona.
