Thiago Alves has suffered an injury that will force him out of his main event fight against Benson Henderson on the Nov. 28 UFC Fight Night card in South Korea, FOX Sports has confirmed.

Sources close to the situation confirmed the news to FOX Sports on Friday following initial reports on Twitter as well as MMAJunkie.com.

Sources stated that Alves suffered a rib injury in training that will cause him to withdraw from the five-round main event for the first card in South Korea.

UFC officials haven't made a statement regarding the injury or who will step in to replace Alves on the card, which is just two weeks away.

This is just the latest setback for Alves, who has been mired in injuries. He's fought just four times in the last three years.

Alves missed all of 2013 due to injury but had returned with two fights in 2015, going 1-1, including a win over Jordan Mein as well as a loss to current welterweight title contender Carlos Condit.
