After picking up their first against-the-spread victory over the weekend, the Michigan State Spartans are pegged as big 17-point favorites for their Week 8 contest against the Indiana Hoosiers at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Spartans capitalized on a late miscue by rival Michigan last week to grab a 27-23 road win as a 7-point underdog -- improving them to 7-0 straight up on the season and giving them their first ATS victory of 2015. Michigan State is 6-0 SU but 1-5 ATS in its last six games against Indiana heading into their game on Saturday.

Michigan State stays at No. 7 in the updated AP Top 25 for this week, while Ohio State remains at the top after beating Penn State 38-10 last week to improve to 7-0 SU but just 2-5 ATS on the season. Ohio State opened as a 20.5-point road favorite against Rutgers for Week 8; the Buckeyes are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 October road games according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

Elsewhere, No. 3 Utah opened as a 3-point road underdog against USC at the sportsbooks, while No. 5 LSU opened as a 17-point home favorite against Western Kentucky, No. 6 Clemson opened as a 3.5-point road favorite against Miami, and No. 8 Alabama opened as a 14.5-point home favorite against Tennessee.

No. 2 Baylor opened as a huge 37-point home favorite against Iowa State for Week 8. The Bears are 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS on the season with the OVER/UNDER having gone 5-1 in their six contests. The OVER has also gone 8-1 in Baylor's last nine games at home.
