WATCH: Utley unperturbed as Mets fans boo him during introductions

Mets fans let out quite a roar of fury when Dodgers infielder Chase Utley was introduced before Game 3, but the veteran didn't appear to be the slightest bit fazed by the overwhelming wave of negativity that engulfed him.

Citi Field was filled with derogatory signs towards Utley on Monday in response to his hard takeout slide of Ruben Tejada that broke the shortstop's leg in Game 2, and Mets fans called for Utley to be placed in the game, chanting "We want Ut-ley!" so one of their pitchers could bean him during an at-bat.

Utley never played in the game, but that didn't prevent the New York faithful from continuing the chants throughout the game. However, no venting of Mets fans' ire was more palpable than when the 36-year-old infielder's name was called during pre-game introductions.

Fans booed heavily when Dodgers aces Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw's names were announced, but they amped up the volume to a level one rarely hears when Utley's name was called over the PA system at Citi Field.

In the midst of the ferociousness of the crowd, Utley was completely composed while he was being booed, and didn't appear to even blink despite the PA announcer taking a pause to allow the crowd to deliver an extended boo parade to the vilified player.

Despite the tension between the two teams stemming from the incident, the Mets didn't retaliate during Game 3, and play resumed as usual.

The Mets got their revenge in a more lasting form, though, as they claimed a 2-1 lead in the NLDS with a 13-7 Game 3 win over the Dodgers.
