BERLIN (AP) German football league president Reinhard Rauball is calling for Sepp Blatter to resign as FIFA president ''at the earliest available opportunity.''

Rauball tells Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper that ''it's high time'' for restructuring at the top levels of FIFA in the wake of the corruption scandal engulfing world football's governing body.

Rauball also called on UEFA President Michel Platini to explain his receipt of 2 million Swiss francs (about $2 million) from FIFA in 2011 for work carried out up to 2002.

Rauball says: ''What Platini has let us know so far just isn't enough.''
