Austin Dillon wins UNOH 175 Camping World Truck Series race

Austin Dillon won the UNOH 175 Camping World Truck Series race Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, leading more than half the race and outlasting the likes of Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter and Kyle Busch to do it.

It was the historic 500th all-time start in the Truck Series, and Dillon led 80 of the 175 laps overall.

"What an amazing weekend," said Dillon, who started from the pole and was fastest during pre-race practice. "This was fun. For (crew chief) Shane Huffman, this was his first career Truck Series win. So that was awesome for him and he made a good call for us to stay out on old tires (toward the end).

"Our truck really got going at the end of a run, and that was awesome."

Kyle Busch, whose No. 51 truck was dominant much of the race and led 69 laps, ran into trouble in the closing laps and hit the wall with 16 to go, causing serious right-side damage that took him out of running for the win.

Crafton battled hard with Dillon for the lead on the final restart with 10 laps to go and briefly passed him, but Dillon almost immediately passed him right back and then ran away with the victory -- the seventh of his career in 67 series starts. It was his first series win of this season and the first of his career at New Hampshire.

"That last restart, I knew I had to beat him into (Turn) 1," Dillon said of battling Crafton, the two-time defending series champion.

Crafton was not pleased about finishing second, but was philosophical about it.

"The 33 definitely was a little bit better than us today," Crafton said. "We fought it all day. ... I don't know what I was doing wrong, but our restarts showed that I was doing something. My teammate Johnny (Sauter) helped me out on that last restart and gave me a shove down in there. But I just couldn't make it stick."

Sauter finished third, followed by Timothy Peters and John Hunter Nemechek. Series points leader Erik Jones came home in seventh.
