FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) Robert Lewandowski's record-breaking five-goal performance in midweek is still the talk of the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich heads to Mainz hoping for a seventh straight victory.
Lewandowski came off the bench to score the fastest hat trick and add two more within a space of less than 10 minutes in a stunning display of efficiency against last season's runner-up and German Cup winner Wolfsburg.
Bayern's 5-1 win, combined with the 1-1 draw by Borussia Dortmund in Hoffenheim, left the defending two-time champion with a two-point lead.
Pep Guardiola's team is the only one with a perfect record after six rounds, while Dortmund dropped its first points.

DORTMUND'S FRUSTRATION
Borussia Dortmund's captain Mats Hummels was so angry after the draw against Hoffenheim that he threw away his captain's band and then decided not to speak to the media - to avoid saying anything he would regret later. The draw ended Dortmund's run of 11 straight wins across all competitions under new coach Thomas Tuchel.
Dortmund played uninspired football until Pierre-Emmerick Aubameyang earned the draw with his seventh goal of the season.
''We are going to try to start a new streak at home,'' Tuchel said.
Promoted Darmstadt is still undefeated on the road and its only loss so far was against Bayern.

WOLFSBURG'S WORRIES
Wolfsburg's ambition of becoming Bayern's only long-term challenger was rudely dispelled by Lewandowski and Bayern could have scored more goals. At the same time, Wolfsburg must be looking at the Volkswagen scandal with a wary eye.
The scandal over rigged U.S. emission tests has deeply shaken the hometown car maker and lowered its market value by billions. Volkswagen is Wolfsburg's chief backer and the scandal could affect its involvement with the football club.
The departure of Kevin de Bruyne for Manchester City brought Wolfsburg millions but left it without the creative spark provided by the Belgium midfielder.
Wolfsburg has slipped to fourth and is already seven points behind Bayern.

HANNOVER NEXT
Wolfsburg's next opponent is Hannover, a club even deeper in trouble. After losing 3-1 at home to Stuttgart, Hannover has dropped to last place with only one point, the worst start to a season in the club's history.
Coach Michael Frontzeck's job could be on the line if Hannover loses again at Wolfsburg. Frontzeck has been in charge only 12 matches and managed to save Hannover from relegation. But his credit is being eroded rapidly.
''We need results,'' Hannover's boss Martin Kind said.

STUTTGART VS. MOENCHENGLADACH
One victory apiece was enough to move Stuttgart and Moenchengladbach from the bottom of the standings. While Stuttgart won in Hannover, Moenchengladbach defeated Augsburg 4-2 at home under interim coach Andre Schubert.
Those were the first points earned by both clubs, which now go against each other.
Stuttgart's problem has not been creating chances, but converting them.
Moenchengladbach was shaken by the unexpected departure of coach Lucien Favre, but director Max Erberl believes the problems are over.
''The team has left behind everything that hit it in the past weeks," Eberl said.
