What a first couple of weeks it's been for BYU football. Suffice it to say, there have been highlights. Backup QB Tanner Mangum had turned into a folk hero of sorts, and rightfully so. He's been magnificent when it matters most.

But there have been lowlights, too. Obviously, starting QB Taysom Hill getting injured against Nebraska is one of them. But the Cougars experienced turmoil in the form of injuries and suspensions before the season started, and against Boise State, one of their linemen was in danger of being suspended, too.

As he was chasing down a fumble, Ului Lapuaho got into a scrum with a Bronco defensive back and delivered an MMA style punch. He was flagged on the play but not ejected.

"Lui (Lapuaho) has had team discipline issued," Bronco Mendenhall said. "It's not going to require missing any games. We have a very clear policy in place for personal fouls and so that is what he's faced up to. He made a mistake, he knows it, I know it, I think the world knows it. The team has addressed it and plan to move forward. I'm comfortable with what has happened."
