Jared Goff, Cal's QB, is undoubtably one of the nation's most talented quarterbacks. In his junior season, Goff is finding a favorite target in WR Kenny Lawler. The connection could end up being one of the best in college football this season.

"I think they both have a lot of confidence in each other. That's what it boils down to," head coach Sonny Dykes said of the connection. "Kenny believes Jared is going to put the ball in a particular place, and Jared believes Kenny is going to be in a particular place."

Dykes has put a lot of faith into Goff's abilities. He believes that each wide receiver has to be on the same page as Goff, regardless of what route is called by the coaches.

"I tell the receivers all the time, 'It doesn't really matter what I want you to do. It matters what Jared wants you to do,' " said Dykes.l.

Of Lawler, Goff said that he is a "perfectionist" and has a ton of talent.

"He wants to be the best, and you can see it in practice, how he competes," Goff said. "He's realizing how good he can be."
