Cardale Jones reportedly hospitalized with 'severe head pain'

Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones was hospitalized Wednesday night according to multiple reports.

Tony Zarella of 19 Action News in Cleveland first reported the junior "was rushed to the hospital with severe head pain," and Elevenwarriors.com subsequently reported the issue was a "bad migraine" and that Jones "is resting and should be good."

Ted Ginn Sr., who was Jones' coach at Cleveland Glenville High School, told CBSSports.com the quarterback went to the hospital after experiencing severe head pain, and Jones' mother, Florence, told the Toledo Blade her son is "good."

A team spokesman told FOXSports.com no information was available on Jones' status.

Jones has spent the month competing with sophomore J.T. Barrett to be the starting quarterback for the defending national champion Buckeyes on Monday when they open the season against Virginia Tech.

OSU head coach Urban Meyer told reporters Wednesday night he "has an idea whose going to take the first snap" but added that both quarterbacks will play this season.

"When you have a good player, what do you do with them?" Meyer said. "You play 'em, so we're going to play both quarterbacks. I don't know how much and what series and all that -- we haven't had that conversation -- but I've already made that decision."
