Running backs can make an offensive line look better than they really are, and vice versa.
But when a squad has talented players at both spots, they can be awfully tough to stop.
Behind an offensive line that features all five returning starters, the Bears expect to produce a strong rushing attack. "Whenever you get two guys back in the offensive line, it's great," said Baylor senior All-America tackle Spencer Drango. "When you have all five, it's unheard of."
Running backs ruled the day as Terence Williams, Johnny Jefferson, Devin Chafin and Shock Linwood combined for 177 yards rushing and three touchdowns in Baylor's second scrimmage of preseason camp Saturday morning at McLane Stadium.
Williams led the ground game with 69 yards on 15 carries, including a 19-yard touchdown. Chafin picked up 52 yards on nine carries with a touchdown while Jefferson added 42 yards on five attempts and a score. Linwood carried just twice for 14 yards.
