The New York Mets placed first baseman Lucas Duda on the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of his ongoing back problems, MLB.com reports.

Duda has been in and out of the lineup for the past two weeks, and he was forced to leave Friday's game after his back locked up on him.

In 113 games this season, Duda is batting .247 with 21 homers and 56 RBI.

From July 25 through Aug. 2, Duda hit .393/.452/1.393 with nine homers and 12 RBI. His back became a problem soon after that eight-game stretch.
