Angels OF Mike Trout (wrist) missed another game on Wednesday, and didn't even attempt to swing a bat. Trout seems to think he'll play tonight, but manager Mike Scioscia said, "It's type of injury where you'd rather give it a couple more days on this end and not risk a couple of weeks on the back end." Don't be surprised if Trout sits out another game.
Cardinals OF Matt Holliday re-injured his quad on Wednesday, and while we'll know more today about his MRI results, a DL stint seems likely. Look for rookie Stephen Piscotty go get plenty of playing time during Holliday's absence, unless the Cards make a deal.
Did you panic when Clayton Kershaw was scratched from his Wednesday start? He's now expected to be ready to go on Friday.
In other Dodger news, OF Joc Pederson has been dropped from the leadoff spot in favor of Jimmy Rollins, and 3B Justin Turner will probably miss part of the weekend with his leg infection.
There are a pair of 12:10 p.m. ET games on today's schedule: Padres-Mets and Nationals-Marlins. Set your lineups accordingly.
THREE home runs, Lucas Duda? That's six in his last four games. Not bad.
Look for Mariners 2B Robinson Cano to miss another couple of games due to an abdominal strain.
Mike Foltynewicz pitched pretty well in his return to the Braves' rotation on Wednesday. Ready to try him again, NL-only owners and maybe even deep mixed leaguers?
Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe is on the paternity list, and could miss another day or two.
Ervin Santana wasn't good as our Wednesday streaming starter selection (though our backup selection, Chris Tillman, was excellent). Today's pick is Milwaukee's Jimmy Nelson (owned in 14.2 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) against the strikeout-prone Cubs. Nelson has allowed just three earned runs over his last three starts, while striking out 19 batters in 20 1/3 innings.
DFS advice (based on 50/50 games, night games only, salaries from DraftKings): At $6,800, I'm planning to use the solid (but low-K) Phil Hughes against the Cano-less Mariners. For a second starter, Carlos Carrasco ($10,100) versus the struggling A's seems like a better value than Sale/Arrieta ... The Jays against a lefty? Score! ... Pirates SS/3B Jung-Ho Kang ($3,700) has a .404 wOBA vs. LHP. Kang's teammates look like solid plays against Cincy southpaw David Holmberg ... Phillies 2B/SS Cesar Hernandez ($2,800) got Wednesday off, and should be ready to go tonight ... It's time to go back to the modestly-priced Freddie Freeman ($4,300) against the mediocre Aaron Harang ... My favorite budget-friendly outfielders are Aaron Hicks ($3,400) and Preston Tucker ($3,200). I know, they're not THAT cheap.
