San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - After missing more than a week with tendinitis in his left wrist, San Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers was placed on the 15-day disabled list prior to Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs.

The move was made retroactive to May 11, one day after Myers' most recent appearance. The 2013 American League Rookie of the Year has sat out six consecutive games with the injury.

Myers had been on a hot stretch prior to being sidelined, having collected three or more hits in three of his last five starts. On the season, the first- year Padre is hitting .291 with five home runs and 19 RBI in 32 games.

The Padres recalled reliever Cory Mazzoni from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move. The right-hander pitched in a pair of games with San Diego in late April but was tagged for six runs and six hits in just two innings.
