Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Cardinals signed linebacker Darryl Sharpton to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

A fourth-round pick by Houston in 2010, Sharpton spent the first four years of his career with the Texans before joining the Chicago Bears last season.

The Miami product has recorded 171 tackles, one sack and one interception in 47 career games (21 starts).

To make room for Sharpton on the roster, the Cardinals released safety Eddie Whitley.
