Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Mets placed pitcher Dillon Gee on the 15-day disabled list with groin pain on Saturday.

Gee tweaked a groin muscle during his most recent start, last Sunday against the Washington Nationals. The right-hander is 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA over five starts this season.

Gee had been scheduled to face the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. Instead, Bartolo Colon will move up a day to take that start on standard rest. Jacob deGrom now will face the Cubs in Monday's series opener.

The Mets recalled top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard from Triple-A Las Vegas. The 22-year-old went 3-0 in five starts with a 1.82 ERA with Las Vegas. In 29 2/3 innings of work, he struck out 34 and walked just eight.

Syndergaard will make his major league debut Tuesday.
